Professor Beatrice Oluyomi Emma-Okon has more than 25 years’ experience as a Higher Education Teacher and a broad range of expertise and skills in Biochemistry Research Methods, having been involved in various research activities since she joined the Academia in 1998.
Her major areas of research include Lipids in Health and Disease and Pathophysiology of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, and she has collaborated with Colleagues in Obafemi Awolowo University and other Universities in Nigeria, as well as other leading Scientists all over the world to carry out studies that have led to important findings in these fields of research. She has received several awards and scholarships as well as research grants and has successfully supervised several M.Sc and Ph.D projects. She is a member of the Nigerian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (NSBMB), American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), Association for Diagnostics and Laboratory Medicine (ADLM, formerly AACC) and Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE).
