ADENIYI TETEDE TAIWO

Profile: ADENIYI Tetede Taiwo is a University of Lagos, Akoka trained biochemist with his Bachelors and Masters degrees bagged from the same institution. He came from FUNAAB into the services of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife with vast knowledge and experience in teaching and research in Biochemistry. He gracefully delivered the Faculty Seminar edition of July 2012.

ADENIYI’s research activities have included investigating the effects of various nutritional interventions on biochemical changes caused by Lead exposure. He also studied the effects of certain vitamins on the use of oral contraceptives and its implication in diabetes mellitus. His research interest is currently focused on mental disorders through the study of brain Monoamine Oxidase inhibitory principles of some traditional medicinal plants used for mental disorders. He has participated in national and international scientific conferences and has several publications in reputable academic journals.

ADENIYI is a fantastic teacher of Biochemistry, engaging students with an extraordinary dexterity at imparting knowledge and demonstrating an extensive experience in training and shaping of young minds. He is jovial, gentle and accommodating, readily at the services of students and colleagues. He has served the Faculty as Part 2 Medical/Dental students Coordinator for several sessions. He is currently the Acting Head of Department of Medical Biochemistry.
